We are thrilled to invite you to the 2nd Edition of the West and Central Africa Investment Summit (WACA INVEST 2025), taking place on June 26th and 27th, at the prestigious Krystal Palace in Douala.

In line with the previous edition, this year’s summit continues to focus on the implementation of ESG investment standards across West and Central Africa—an essential step towards unlocking the region’s long-anticipated double-digit growth potential.

A UNIQUE INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY IN AFRICA, FOR AFRICA

In line with the theme of this first edition is « Environmental, Social and Governance Investments in Sub-Saharan Africa“, the focus is kept on the ESG. The theme of this 2nd edition is “The implementation of ESG norms of investment in West and Central Africa”. Definitively, this summit aims at fostering the use of ESG standards in projects Management, and across various layers of the Finance industry.

The purpose is to keep educating the burgeoning Financial ecosystems of the regions on investments of impact, which can sustainably affect lives.

Further, a significant number of projects presented at the WACA are already approved by regulators and governments – who are increasingly welcoming private financing.

According to the World Bank, sub-Saharan Africa records a solid 4.9% growth in 2024, and 5.1% is forecasted for the period 2025 – 2026. in the long term, the expectations are for the region to grow by 3.9% annually by 2043. The accelerating factors? Its young and growing population in a globally aging world, its natural resources as well as its emerging middle class, all of which create a particularly attractive ground for investors. While Sub-Saharan Africa presents numerous opportunities, there are also challenges that need to be addressed. Therefore, the need for intermediaries to help related parties navigating this thriving environment is needed.

AFRICA'S OPPORTUNITY TODAY

Sub-Saharan Africa is probably one of the very scarce regions where you will see governments issuing bonds at more than 6% interest per year. This says a lot about the returns generated by the region across various industries. A report by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development indicates that Africa has recorded the highest rate of return on foreign direct investment at 14%; compared to 9.1% in Asia and 8.9% in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The West And Central Africa (WACA) INVESTMENT SUMMIT brings together a minimum of 100 private, public, and para-public projects from multiple industries (mining,, agriculture, technology, finance, etc.) actively seeking financing of at least 500,000 Euros. As well, a wide range of investors with different profiles and other market players (banks, insurance companies, regulators, public authorities, etc.) are gathered, providing a large platform for meeting and discussion.
